About Us

Kamaira is a co-founder of Mind, Body, Spiritual Awareness. She is a talented soprano who has studied classical voice and opera singing for over ten years. Kamaira is an alumnus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Chemistry. While at UNC, she founded a student organization called Mind, Body, Spirit Connection, which educated on alternative methods for stress reduction and provided a nurturing environment for students to vent and express themselves. Kamaira is an aspiring healthcare professional who seeks to incorporate music and other alternative forms of healing into her practice.

Kamaira is an intuitive energy healer, proficient in leading guided meditations and an expert in deep breathing. She frequently leads free Guided Meditations for the community, drawing on many backgrounds, techniques and traditions. Kamaira has taught self-healing and compassion to oncology nurses at the UNC Cancer Hospital. She uses a combination of visualization, mindfulness, Theravada Buddhist meditation techniques, Kundalini meditation, chanting, deep breathing, and carefully selected music to create a deeply moving, cathartic and life changing experience.

Currently, Kamaira is pursuing her Masters Degree in Physiology at North Carolina State University while working part-time as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Kamaira continues to research topics in alternative medicine and immunology at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in addition to interning at the UNC Program on Integrative Medicine. Previously Kamaira was involved in research on the effects of mindful self-compassion intervention in young adult cancer survivors.

Kamaira’s hobbies include singing, reading, oil painting, and gardening. She is an artist at heart and has also started a collection of original New Age art and photography. Kamaira is a true Renaissance woman.

shamanic healerA “healer” is not someone that you go to FOR healing.
A healer is someone that triggers within you, your own ability to heal yourself.

“In the past several years, some of life’s greatest lessons have come to me from experiencing health issues. My journey has led me to expand my knowledge in various modalities and alternative methods of healing. Therefore amplifying my desire and purpose to help others help themselves.”

Continue to Shine,

The Goddess Divine
